Atiku Abubakar Meets Hayatu-Deen for Reconciliation Talks

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), conducted closed-door discussions with rival Hayatu-Deen in Lagos. This meeting appears to be part of reconciliation efforts after the ADC's presidential primaries, where Atiku was declared the winner.

Hayatu-Deen, a former minister of transport, rejected the outcome of the primaries, alleging manipulation of the voting process and did not attend the announcement of the results. Following his victory, Atiku called on aggrieved aspirants and party members to put aside their grievances and unite for the upcoming general elections.

He emphasized that the primary results should not create permanent factions within the party. Atiku extended a direct appeal to fellow contestants, including Rotimi Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen, to join in addressing the country's challenges and to strengthen the party ahead of the elections.
