Atiku Holds Off ADC Membership Card Collection as APC Governors ‘Plot Defection’

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has delayed collecting his African Democratic Congress (ADC) membership card amid speculation of his defection from the ruling Progressives Congress (APC). Atiku, who recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party due to internal disputes, was scheduled to receive his ADC card in Adamawa State on August 6 but the event has been postponed indefinitely.

The ADC chairman in Adamawa State confirmed the delay, citing Atiku's indication that the ceremony might be held in September. There are reports of APC governors planning to join the ADC, potentially complicating Atiku's presidential ambitions.

Additionally, there are talks of Atiku holding discussions with former President Goodluck Jonathan for a possible 2027 presidential run. The ADC spokesperson emphasized the party's openness to all Nigerians and their readiness to rescue the country from hardship.
