Atiku Abubakar Condemns Kidnapping of Adelabu's Family

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, expressed deep concern over the abduction of Adebayo Adelabu’s sister and twin nephews, which occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State. In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku condemned the incident as indicative of Nigeria's deteriorating security situation.

He called for the immediate and unconditional release of the victims and urged security agencies to deploy available resources for their safe rescue. Atiku emphasized that the rise in kidnappings and violent crimes affects all Nigerians, regardless of their social status or political affiliations.

He criticized the federal government for failing to protect citizens and called for a comprehensive intelligence-driven strategy to dismantle kidnapping syndicates. The incident reflects a broader trend of increasing insecurity across Nigeria, with criminal gangs targeting various communities and demanding large ransoms for victims.
