Atiku-Linked Firm Demands Evidence on PDP Election Claims

A U.S.-based lobbying firm, Von Batten Montagu York L.C., associated with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has demanded that members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) submit credible evidence to support allegations of political interference related to the upcoming 2027 general elections in Nigeria. This development comes amid deepening divisions within the PDP, particularly regarding its presidential ticket.

The firm called on PDP members to verify information and provide indisputable evidence concerning claims of electoral interference involving the current administration. Taminu Turaki's faction within the PDP has accused another faction loyal to Goodluck Jonathan of attempting to disrupt events aimed at ratifying Jonathan's candidacy.

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has announced stricter monitoring of public venues in Abuja to prevent unauthorized gatherings, warning that violators could face severe sanctions, including the revocation of land titles.
