US Lobbying Firm Pushes for Tinubu's Drug Case Records

The US lobbying firm Von Batten-Montague-York, associated with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has intensified its campaign for the release of records concerning President Bola Tinubu's alleged involvement in heroin trafficking. The firm stated that US law enforcement agencies under former President Joe Biden have denied multiple Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests made by transparency activist Aaron Greenspan.

These requests, identified by specific FOIA numbers, were submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Justice, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. A US District Judge, Beryl Howell, has ordered the release of these records in 2025, yet they remain undisclosed.

The firm plans to engage with anti-drug organizations and victims of heroin abuse in the US, emphasizing the need for transparency regarding foreign leaders accused of drug-related offenses. This renewed push follows exchanges between Atiku's team and the Presidency, with Atiku criticizing the government's defense of Tinubu amid ongoing public interest in the case.
