Atiku Abubakar Raises Alarm Over Bank Detail Leak

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed alarm over a suspicious credit into one of his private bank accounts. In a statement issued on Friday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku revealed that an unknown individual made a transfer into his account, which is held with one of Nigeria's leading commercial banks, with the description “Contribution Electioneering Campaign.” Atiku emphasized that neither he nor his campaign team solicited or authorized this payment and that they have no knowledge of the individual or entity behind it.

He described the incident as “deeply troubling,” raising concerns about how unknown persons accessed his private banking details. The statement warned that this breach could expose him to various criminal threats and urged the public and security agencies to be aware of this incident, which he views as part of a series of suspicious activities leading up to the upcoming general elections.
