Atiku Warns FG Over El-Rufai's Detention and Health

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has issued a warning to the federal government regarding the detention of Nasir El-Rufai, stating that the government will be held accountable if anything happens to him. El-Rufai was detained on February 16 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and later transferred to the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

Atiku expressed grave concern for El-Rufai's health and emphasized that his fundamental rights must be respected, including access to medical care and legal representation. He criticized the lack of transparency from the government and the perception of selective prosecution against opposition figures.

Atiku's comments were made in response to reports that El-Rufai was suffering from a nosebleed and that family members were allegedly denied access to him. He called for accountability and fairness in the application of the law, insisting that anti-corruption efforts should not be used as a political weapon.
