Atiku Abubakar Welcomes Ramadan and Lent Seasons

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), issued a statement welcoming the commencement of Ramadan and Lent. He congratulated Christians and Muslims as they begin their respective seasons of fasting, which started on Wednesday, February 18.

Abubakar emphasized the importance of the holy month of Ramadan, urging Muslims in Nigeria to observe the fast and engage in good deeds, as commanded by Almighty Allah. He noted that this period is not only about spiritual and physical purification but also fosters empathy and compassion towards the less privileged.

The statement also referenced the sighting of the moon by Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar and other traditional leaders, who encouraged Muslims to embark on the Ramadan fast. Abubakar called for both Christians and Muslims to extend charity and fulfill their obligations during this season of sacrifice.
