Atiku's ADC Campaign Council to Expand With More Appointments

Phrank Shaibu, who serves as Director of Strategic Communication, released a statement on Saturday explaining that the African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council's initial appointments mark only an early stage in preparing for the 2027 general election. The campaign structure continues to develop, with ongoing consultations taking place throughout multiple sectors.

In his message, Shaibu sought to comfort party members and supporters whose names were absent from the first announcement. He made clear that individuals not included at this time should not view their exclusion as final.

As operations broaden nationwide, the council will distribute additional positions and responsibilities to support its growing organizational needs. The council made efforts to honor the dedication of long-time backers of Atiku Abubakar, the ADC's presidential nominee.

According to Shaibu, Abubakar—a former Vice President—deeply values the bonds built with supporters who have stood by him across many years, recognizing their commitment and sacrifice. This messaging appears intended to manage sentiment among those in the party ranks still hoping for prominent campaign positions.

Abubakar obtained the ADC's presidential nomination following his May 2026 exit from the Peoples Democratic Party. By rolling out staff assignments in stages, the council suggests it will expand its organizational strength gradually rather than announce everything at once.
