Atiku Abubakar's Campaign Council Expands Ahead of 2027

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council, led by Atiku Abubakar, announced plans to expand its national campaign structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election. In a statement issued by Director of Strategic Communication Phrank Shaibu, the council indicated that the initial list of officials released was not final and that further appointments would be made as consultations continue.

Shaibu emphasized that Atiku Abubakar acknowledges the sacrifices of his supporters and urged patience from those not included in the initial list, assuring them that their contributions are not forgotten. The campaign aims to involve party members, experienced leaders, professionals, and youth in its activities.

This announcement follows the unveiling of the Presidential Campaign Council, which appointed Kashim Ibrahim-Imam as chairman, Nasir El-Rufai as deputy chairman, and Austin Akobundu as Director-General and Campaign Manager. Notably, Kingsley Moghalu rejected his appointment to the council's Policy Team, citing a lack of consultation prior to the announcement.
