Atiku's Aide Critiques Tinubu's Absentee Leadership

Frank Shuaibu, the spokesman for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu over what he termed 'absentee leadership' during Tinubu's visit to Lagos State. In a statement released on Thursday, Shuaibu noted that Tinubu failed to make significant public appearances at state functions, despite being present in Lagos.

He referenced Tinubu's recent visit to Plateau State, which was described as brief and perfunctory following a deadly attack. Shuaibu pointed out that Tinubu reportedly spent a short time at the airport before departing.

He argued that the president's limited visibility and engagement during official duties undermine his responsibilities. Furthermore, Shuaibu warned that this pattern of limited public engagement, as seen in both the Plateau and Lagos visits, suggests that the president appears disengaged from pressing national challenges.

He urged Tinubu to recalibrate his approach to governance to demonstrate greater responsibility and commitment to addressing the country's security situation.
