Atiku Criticizes Tinubu for Skipping Key Lagos Events

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, criticized President Bola Tinubu for his absence at several key project unveilings during a recent two-day visit to Lagos. A statement issued by Atiku's Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, highlighted Tinubu's failure to attend significant events, including the inauguration of the Opebi-Mend Ojota Link Bridge and a multi-agency complex.

This absence has raised serious questions about Tinubu's commitment to public accountability, especially as Nigeria grapples with worsening insecurity. Atiku's camp described Tinubu's brief visit to Plateau State, following a devastating terrorist attack, as shockingly inadequate, noting he spent only ten minutes at the airport before departing.

The statement emphasized that Tinubu's limited public engagement during official visits reflects a disconnect in his leadership style. Atiku's camp urged Tinubu to demonstrate greater presence and responsibility in discharging his duties, asserting that anything less would be a disservice to the Nigerian people.
