Simeone Calls for More from Lookman After Madrid Derby Win

Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, stated that Ademola Lookman needs to deliver more after the Nigerian forward made a second-half appearance in Atletico's 2-1 victory over Real Madrid during the Madrid derby. Lookman was substituted in during the 67th minute, replacing Alex Baena, with Atletico leading 2-0 from goals by Alejandro Grimaldo and Jonathan David.

Despite his introduction, Lookman did not make a significant impact before Antonio Rudiger scored for Real Madrid late in the match. Simeone acknowledged Lookman's importance but expressed a desire for greater contributions from him and other substitutes.

He praised Lookman's unique qualities prior to the match, noting that he brings a dimension lacking in the team. Lookman has scored once in seven appearances this season and has played in various attacking roles since joining Atletico from Atalanta, where he scored nine goals and provided three assists in 24 appearances.

Simeone emphasized the need for Lookman to improve his performance as the season progresses.
