Politically Motivated Attack on Senator Yari, Says Danfulani

Tukur Umar Danfulani, the immediate past chairman of the Progress Congress APC in Zamfara State, described the recent attack on Senator Abdul Aziz Yari Abubakar, who represents Zamfara West, as politically motivated. Danfulani made this statement during a press briefing with journalists in Gusau.

He noted that Yari demonstrated significant political influence shortly after entering the Senate and contested for the Senate presidency in the 10th National Assembly, although he did not win. Danfulani argued that Yari's performance in the contest showcased his political strength, which unsettles the views of future political forces.

He highlighted Yari's contributions to tackling insecurity in Zamfara State, asserting that the former governor committed substantial resources to support efforts against banditry. Danfulani appealed to Nigerians, particularly residents of Zamfara State, to refrain from character attacks on leaders and instead recognize individual contributions to the welfare and development of the people.
