Atunlo Launches N100m Fund for Climate Innovation

Ayo Ogunlowo, the founder of Atunlo, announced a N100 million fund to support climate innovation and youth empowerment in Nigeria during the launch of the Climate Beyond Border Caravan in Abuja. This initiative aims to deepen youth participation in climate action and promote commercial policy advocacy for sustainable environmental impact.

The fund will directly finance innovative businesses addressing environmental and social challenges, with the first batch of funding released on Friday to three enterprises focused on reusable sanitary products, alternative energy, and paper recycling. Ogunlowo emphasized the importance of women and young people in climate action and highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure women's economic empowerment through education and skill training.

He called for stronger collaboration between the private sector and government to ensure that climate-related interventions are sustainable and tailored to local realities. Ogunlowo expressed optimism that increased investment in grassroots innovation would mobilize young Nigerians towards climate action and improve livelihoods.
