Aubameyang to Have Knee Surgery After Strong Start

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a 37-year-old striker for Deportivo La Coruna, is scheduled to undergo surgery on his right knee on September 24 after sustaining a meniscus injury during a LaLiga match against Real Betis. Aubameyang had been performing impressively, scoring five goals and providing two assists in his first seven league appearances.

The surgery will be conducted by orthopaedic specialist Manuel Leyes at the Olympia Centre in Madrid, with Aubameyang expected to be discharged the same day to begin rehabilitation in A Coruña. The club has not specified a return date, but reports suggest he could be out for six weeks to two months.

Aubameyang's injury is a setback for Deportivo, who are currently seventh in LaLiga, as he had quickly become their leading scorer and made a significant impact since joining from Marseille during the summer.
