Christantus Uche, a midfielder, successfully underwent knee surgery following a serious injury sustained during a pre-season friendly against Monaco on August 6, where he was tackled by defender Christian Mawissa. Medical scans revealed multiple ligament and meniscus tears in Uche's right knee, necessitating surgery and ruling him out for the entire season.

Uche shared a post-surgery photo on Wednesday and expressed gratitude to Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet and his medical team, his agent, Getafe, the coaching staff, and his teammates for their support. He emphasized the importance of patience and hard work in his recovery journey.

Uche, 23, spent the previous season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he made 22 appearances but struggled for playing time. Palace chose not to make his loan permanent, leading to his return to Getafe.

The knee injury now complicates his future as he embarks on a lengthy rehabilitation program.
