“Audio Money”: Nigerians React As Super Falcons Captain Claims FG Is Yet to Fulfill ₦152m Pledge

Nigerians are reacting to Super Falcons captain's claim that the Federal Government has not fulfilled its ₦152 million pledge after the team beat hosts Morocco to win the 2025 Women Africa Cup Nations final on July 26. The Super Falcons, with a two-goal comeback in the second half, secured their 10th title in their 13th appearance.

Upon their return, they were welcomed by dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and the President. However, the captain stated that the team is yet to receive the promised reward.

Journalist David Oku appealed for patience, stating that the money is usually paid directly to the players' accounts by the Nigeria Football Federation and the National Sports Commission. President Bola Tinubu has been praised for fulfilling promises in the past, including rewarding the Tigress team for winning the 2025 FIBA Women Afrobasket.
