Australia Outlines Benefits of Work and Holiday Visa

Australia's Department of Home Affairs has released a detailed breakdown of the benefits available to holders of the Work and Holiday visa under subclass 462. The visa allows holders to engage in short-term employment in Australia, with no restrictions on the type of work, though they may not work for the same employer for more than six months.

Holders can also study for up to four months and travel in and out of Australia without restrictions during the 12-month visa period. A significant feature of this visa is the pathway to a second Work and Holiday visa; holders who complete three months of specified work can apply for an extension, allowing them to stay in Australia for an additional year.

The visa must be activated by entering Australia within 12 months of being granted, and holders must enter using the passport linked to their visa. If a holder receives a different visa, the Work and Holiday visa will cease.
