AWBFA to Launch Women in Banking Summit in Lagos

The African Women Business and Finance Award (AWBFA) announced plans to convene its inaugural pan-African Women in Banking and Finance Summit in Lagos. This summit aims to address the longstanding recognition gap for women in Africa's financial sector.

Chlo Haven, the Chief Executive Officer of AWBFA, emphasized the need for a macro-level approach to celebrate women in banking and finance beyond national borders. The event is designed to connect women across over 50 African countries, who often work in silos, to amplify their visibility and impact.

The summit will also focus on mentorship, infrastructure, and cross-border collaboration, fostering an environment where women can thrive across various industries. The initiative seeks to inspire the next generation of female leaders and enhance job opportunities for women in the financial sector.
