Taiwo Awoniyi Set to Join Coventry City from Nottingham Forest

Taiwo Awoniyi is on the verge of joining Coventry City from Nottingham Forest, as confirmed by transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano. A club-to-club agreement has been reached, and Awoniyi is currently undergoing a medical examination ahead of his official unveiling.

The 29-year-old striker, who previously won the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup with Nigeria, will be the second Super Eagles player signed by Coventry's manager Frank Lampard since the club's promotion to the Premier League, following Frank Onyeka's move from Brentford. During his four-year tenure at Nottingham Forest, Awoniyi scored 23 goals and provided six assists in 103 appearances, with 21 goals coming in the Premier League.

He joined Nottingham Forest from Union Berlin in 2022 and was in the final year of his contract. Awoniyi's experience is expected to be valuable as Coventry aims to strengthen its squad for the Premier League season.
