Awujale Succession Process Delayed, No Screening Committee Established

The Awujale succession process faces delays as the Fusengbuwa Ruling House clarifies that no screening committee has been established yet. Following the passing of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the ruling house is expected to produce the next Awujale.

Owoyemi of the Owoyemi family emphasized ongoing consultations and the absence of an official structure for the succession process. Shonibare Idowa pledged loyalty to the Tunwase family, assuring support for the leadership transition.

Owoyemi cautioned against commercializing the succession process and urged the Ogun State Government and kingmakers to collaborate closely with the ruling house to preserve Ijebu unity and progress.
