Halimat Omidina Reflects on Baba Suwe's Final Days

Halimat Omidina, the daughter of the late veteran Yoruba actor Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, recounted a touching memory on social media regarding her father's passing. She revealed that two days before his death on November 22, 2021, at the age of 63, Baba Suwe told her he would die, a statement she initially dismissed as a joke.

Halimat expressed her regret for not creating more memories with her father and wished she had embraced him more tightly after his foreboding remark. She shared that the day after his prediction, she was called home due to his deteriorating condition, and upon arrival, found that he had lost the ability to speak, passing away shortly thereafter.

Halimat commemorated what would have been Baba Suwe's 68th birthday with a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on the absence of celebrations and her father's presence, stating, "Today feels so different, no crowd, no jollof rice, no you in your new shirt.".
