Halimat Omidina Reflects on Baba Suwe's Last Words

Halimat Omidina, daughter of the late comedy legend Babatunde Omidina, known as Baba Suwe, recounted a significant conversation with her father just 48 hours before his death on 22 November 2021 at the age of 63. On 22 August 2026, which would have marked Baba Suwe's 68th birthday, Halimat reflected on the emotional weight of the day without him.

She disclosed that her father had ominously told her he was going to die, a statement she initially dismissed. The following day, she received an urgent call to return home due to his deteriorating condition.

Upon her arrival, Baba Suwe was unable to communicate. Halimat expressed deep regret for not fully embracing him during their final interaction, wishing she had cherished that moment more, now understanding its significance.
