ADC Faces Internal Crisis as Key Factions Depart

The Adamawa chapter of the ADC is experiencing a major internal fracture, primarily driven by factions led by Babachir Lawal and Aishatu Binani. The Binani faction announced its mass resignation from the party, citing a total collapse of internal democracy and manipulation during recent party congress primaries.

This announcement was made through a communiqué signed by Mijiyewa Kugama and Said Komsiri following a stakeholders' meeting held on Saturday. The group labeled the entire electoral process a sham and declared an immediate and irreversible departure from the ADC, creating a vacuum within the party's Adamawa chapter.

Ishaku Abbo, representing another faction, has taken steps to officially announce his defection from the ADC, urging supporters to remain calm as he transitions to a new political platform, which will be officially announced over the weekend. Abbo expressed his intention to run for office in the 2027 elections, emphasizing the need for unity and preparation among the youth for the upcoming electoral challenges.
