Idris Urges Niger APC Leaders to Support Tinubu's Reforms

On Thursday, during a solidarity visit from chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, called for support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to consolidate reforms ahead of the 2027 general elections. Idris noted that since assuming office in May 2023, Tinubu has faced significant economic and security challenges but has made progress in areas such as the economy, security, infrastructure, education, and human capital development.

He emphasized the importance of unity among party leaders to sustain these reforms, which have restored investor confidence and increased fiscal space due to the removal of the petrol subsidy. Idris mentioned ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, and acknowledged that while challenges in security remain, there is a gradual return to normalcy.

He urged APC leaders to resolve internal conflicts through dialogue and focus on strengthening the administration's development agenda.
