Niger State Allocates 500 Hectares for Solar Farm Project

On a significant occasion, Governor Moham Umaru Bago of Niger State officially handed over 500 hectares of land to Abuja Steel Mills for the establishment of a solar farm. The project, developed in collaboration with the African Industrial Group, is expected to reshape the industrial landscape of Niger State and create numerous job opportunities.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Bago emphasized the state's plan to open additional land for industrial development towards the Kaduna State boundary, leveraging the existing hydropower assets and the potential for solar energy. The land allocation is part of a broader strategy to attract private investment and reduce reliance on imports.

Raj Gupta, Chairman of the African Industrial Group, described the land allocation as a major step towards industrial renewable energy and job creation in Nigeria. Shuaibu Audu, Minister of Steel Development, commended the Niger State government for its initiative, while Joseph Tegb, Minister of Power, highlighted the importance of the project in attracting private investments and supporting local manufacturing.
