Opposition Leaders Form Alliance to Challenge Tinubu

A political realignment is underway as Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, alongside Makinde and Senator Seriake Dickson, is reportedly plotting an alliance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to oust President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Sources within the ADC indicate that discussions are ongoing to strengthen the opposition coalition, which is part of a broader strategy to establish a formidable political platform capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Key figures from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), including former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, are involved in these negotiations. The move aims to revitalize the party and create a stronger opposition force ahead of the elections.

However, the APC has downplayed the significance of this emerging alliance, with Ajibola Basiru, the party's national secretary, stating that it does not pose a serious threat to Tinubu's re-election bid.
