ADC Claims Plot to Make Tinubu Sole Candidate for 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised concerns about a purported plot to position Bola Tinubu as the only presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. This allegation involves APC governors and senior security officials based in Abuja, aiming to destabilize the ADC and weaken its opposition platform.

Mr. Nafiu Bala Gomb, an expelled member of the ADC, is accused of collaborating with external political interests to create confusion within the party.

The ADC, led by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, asserts that it will utilize all legitimate means to resist these anti-democratic forces. The party emphasizes that its leadership remains intact, with Senator David Mark set to lead a coalition meeting in July 2025, which will include INEC officials.

A recent Federal High Court ruling dismissed a challenge to Mark's leadership, affirming its legitimacy. The ADC warns that any attempts to manipulate its structure threaten Nigeria's democratic integrity and the emergence of credible political alternatives.
