Bauchi Governor Approves Early Salary Payment for Eid

On March 2026, Bauchi State Governor Sen. Bala Mohammed ordered the immediate payment of salaries to civil servants across the state ahead of the Eid el-Fitr celebrations. This decision was disclosed by the state head of service, Barr.

Sani Mohammed, during a press briefing in Bauchi. The governor's directive is intended to enable workers to celebrate the festive period with ease and underscores his commitment to the welfare of workers, particularly during festive times.

Barr. Sani Mohammed expressed appreciation on behalf of the civil service, noting that this move would positively impact families and stimulate economic activity in the state.

Additionally, he provided updates on the ongoing recruitment exercise, which is nearing its final stages, with interviews already underway for nearly 18 ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). He warned against recruitment fraud, revealing that several suspects have already been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.

The governor reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in the public service.
