Sokoto Governor Approves Early Payment of February Salaries Ahead of Ramadan

Sokoto State Governor Ahm Aliyu has granted approval for the early payment of February salaries to state workers in preparation for the upcoming Ramadan fasting period. The decision, announced on February 12, 2026, will see payments commence from February 13, 2026.

The statement issued by the Director-General of Media and Public Affairs at the Sokoto Government House, Abubakar Bawa, highlighted that the early payment is aimed at assisting civil servants in the state to prepare for the holy month. The payment will benefit employees of the state civil service, local government council staff, local government education authority, and pensioners across Sokoto State.

Governor Aliyu emphasized the importance of workers responding positively to the gesture, demonstrating dedication to their duties and carrying out their responsibilities diligently. He reiterated the government's commitment to enhancing service delivery and ensuring the efficient operation of public institutions, thanking residents for their continuous support and prayers.
