Bala Mohammed Joins APM, Seeks Bauchi South Senate Seat

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, announced on Thursday that he has picked the senatorial nomination form to contest for the Bauchi South senatorial district seat in the 2027 elections. This decision follows his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Peoples Movement (APM) on May 2, 2023.

Mohammed disclosed this information via a post on his official Facebook page after attending a National Executive Committee meeting of the APM, where he met with the party's national chairman, Yusuf Dantal, and other stakeholders. He explained that the current political landscape in Nigeria has become increasingly challenging due to undemocratic practices and political intimidation, prompting him to seek an alternative political platform.

Mohammed emphasized that the APM shares his political philosophy and vision for good governance, democracy, and justice. He also mentioned that several political office holders from the PDP have joined him in the APM, indicating a shift in political allegiance within the state.
