Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed Picks APM Nomination Form

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has formally picked up the nomination form to contest for the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections. This decision comes after his recent defection from the People's Democratic Party to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

The nomination form was received during a meeting with the APM national executive committee on Thursday, as disclosed in a statement. The meeting, which included the party's national chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantal and other key stakeholders, focused on national party matters and allowed Mohammed to familiarize himself with the party's leadership structure.

The governor emphasized that his decision to join APM was driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to building a stronger democratic culture in Nigeria. The APM is noted to include a significant number of political office holders and stakeholders who previously served in the PDP structure in Bauchi State.
