Fran Garcia Names Fabian Ruiz as Ballon d'Or Favorite
Fran Garcia, a defender for Real Betis, expressed his preference for Fabian Ruiz of Paris Saint-Germain to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or during an interview with El Larguero. He dismissed the candidacies of Barcelona players Lamine Yamal and Rodri, stating, “For me, it’s Fabian.” Garcia acknowledged the merits of all three players, who are among the 30 shortlisted for the award.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony is set to take place in London later this month. Ruiz had an outstanding season, contributing to Spain's World Cup victory and helping Paris Saint-Germain secure the UEFA Champions League title.
