Hargreaves Names Kane and Rodri Favorites for 2026 Ballon d'Or

Former Manchester United and Manchester City midfielder Owen Hargreaves has identified Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane and Barcelona midfielder Rodri as the top two favorites for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. The announcement for this year's Ballon d'Or winner will occur in October in London.

Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain won the prestigious award last year. Hargreaves praised Kane for his exceptional performance at Bayern Munich, noting his impressive goalscoring record and his contributions during the World Cup, where England finished third.

He stated, "who else could it be?" regarding Kane's candidacy. Hargreaves also commended Rodri for his outstanding play, highlighting his victories in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup with Manchester City, as well as his pivotal role in Spain's World Cup triumph, where he was arguably the best player of the tournament.

Hargreaves concluded that if he were to vote, it would be between these two players.
