Harry Kane, the England captain and striker for Bayern Munich, is currently the favorite to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or award, according to AS. This comes despite his team's elimination by Argentina in the World Cup semi-finals.

Kane scored six goals during the tournament, ranking behind Kylian Mbappé, who scored ten goals, and Lionel Messi, who netted eight. Other notable players include Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham, who both scored seven goals.

Kane's main competition for the Ballon d’Or is expected to come from Rodri and Lamine Yamal, members of the Spain squad that won the World Cup in North America. If Kane wins, it would mark the first time he claims this prestigious award.
