Didi Hamann: Kane Lacks Ballon d'Or Credentials for 2026

Didi Hamann, a former midfielder for Bayern Munich and Liverpool, expressed skepticism regarding Harry Kane's chances of winning the 2026 Ballon d'Or. In a statement made during an interview with Andy’s Bet Club, Hamann ruled out Kane as a viable candidate for the prestigious award, asserting that he has not performed at a level sufficient to merit the honor.

Hamann noted that while Kane has scored many goals, his contributions in critical tournaments were lacking. Specifically, he pointed out that Kane's team reached only the semifinals in the Champions League and that he failed to score after the round of 32 in the World Cup, with his last goal in open play being against Congo.

Hamann suggested that there are two or three contenders who are currently ahead of Kane for the award, naming Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, and Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele as potential frontrunners.
