Bandits Abduct 15 Women and Children in Katsina Attack

On Thursday at approximately 9:45 PM, a group of armed men abducted 15 women and children from a community in Katsina. The attack targeted a household belonging to a man identified as Aliyu.

The assailants executed their operation in a calculated manner, splitting into two groups; one group pretended to rustle cattle to infiltrate the community while the other abducted residents. They fled in different directions without firing a single shot to avoid drawing attention.

The community members realized the cattle rustling was a ruse too late and attempted to pursue the attackers. However, the bandits had already escaped far from the area.

Among those abducted were several minors, including infants. The attack is reportedly linked to notorious bandit leader Kwashen Garwa, who was involved in a peace deal reached a month prior, which had brought relative calm to the area until this latest assault.
