Northern Governors Issue Warning on Rising Insecurity Amid Bandit Attacks

In response to escalating bandit attacks, 19 northern governors, led by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, issued a warning on the urgent need for decisive action to combat insecurity and poverty in the region. The Northern Governors Forum (NSGF) emphasized the need for unity and the rejection of divisive narratives.

Recent incidents, including the kidnapping of bridesmaids in Kano State, highlight the severity of the security challenges faced in the North. The governors called for constitutional amendments and the deployment of traditional and religious leaders to address the security crisis effectively.
