Northern Governors Commit N1 Billion Monthly to Tackle Insecurity

The Northern Governors' Forum has taken action to address the increasing insecurity in the region by committing N1 billion monthly to establish a security fund. The fund will be used to purchase high-tech security equipment and support security agencies in the northern states.

Governor Sule of Nasarawa State disclosed this decision during a state executive council meeting in Lafia. The forum appointed Ezekiel Gomos as the Director-General to oversee the management of the security fund.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya emphasized the need for collective action to combat banditry in the region during a meeting in Kaduna.
