Bandits Kill 20 in Fresh Onslaught on Katsina Community, Sparking Insecurity Concerns

In a tragic event, suspected bandits launched a deadly attack on Doma Community in the Tafoki Ward of Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina State, Nigeria. The assault led to the killing of at least 20 individuals, with several houses and shops set ablaze during the onslaught.

Surajo Aliyu Daudawa, the Chairman of Faskari Local Government Area, confirmed the attack, describing how gunmen stormed the village on a Tuesday afternoon, causing devastation and loss of lives. The assailants engaged in reprisal attacks, resulting in the deaths of innocent victims and the destruction of properties, including vehicles and residential buildings.

The lack of security personnel in the community during the invasion exacerbated the tragic outcome. The bodies of the victims were moved to Tafoki Community for burial arrangements.

The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, disclosed that a distress call was received, prompting a swift response from security forces to restore normalcy and commence investigations into the incident.
