Bandits Kill Three in Niger State Village Attack

On Saturday, the Niger State Police Command confirmed that bandits attacked Pissa Village in the Borgu Local Government Area, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and the burning of houses. The police spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, reported that the attack occurred at around 9:00 AM, and military details engaged the bandits, although details of the military response remain sketchy.

Following the attack, there were fears of a possible invasion in Minna, the state capital, leading to a hurried end of school sessions as parents sought confirmation about the safety of their children. Reports indicated that students did not wait for the official closing time due to fears of bandit attacks.

Abiodun assured parents that the police are working around the clock to address the situation and confirmed that no attacks had occurred at schools within the state.
