Mass Exodus in Niger State as Residents Flee Amid Bandit Threat

In Mariga communities in Niger State, a mass exodus has been triggered by the presence of armed bandits reportedly moving into the area to set up camps. The residents of Mariga Local Government Area have fled their homes due to fears of attacks by the bandits, identified as operating in Kangi Masabu and Gulbin Boka villages.

This has led to panic among the surrounding settlements, with reports of abductions and cattle rustling. The insecurity has also affected transportation, with the Kontagora-Rijau road being deserted by motorists due to the fear of ambushes.

Security agencies are closely monitoring the situation and advising residents to stay alert while efforts are made to restore security and rescue abducted individuals.
