Northern Youth Leader Commends Military for Security Gains

Alhaji Ibrahim Dan-Musa, a northern youth leader, commended the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for the military's recent achievements in combating insecurity, particularly in dismantling the strongholds of armed bandits. His remarks were made during a meeting of the Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly in Lafia.

Dan-Musa noted that coordinated military operations are effectively preventing attacks and systematically removing bandit hideouts. He also addressed the ongoing tensions between farming and herding communities in Benue, urging both sides to seek peaceful coexistence to avoid undermining the security progress made.

Furthermore, he credited Lt. Gen. Lagbaja for enhancing professional standards within the army, ensuring timely operational allowances for soldiers, and fostering a culture of discipline that has improved military performance. Dan-Musa concluded by urging traditional media and social media influencers to handle security-related coverage responsibly, warning that negative portrayals of the military could weaken the nation's security framework.
