Former Legislators Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Presidency, Call for Power Rotation Constitutional Backing

Senator Jibrin Barau, along with a coalition of former legislators from various parties, endorsed Bola Tinubu as the sole candidate for the 2027 Nigerian presidential election at a summit in Abuja. The National Forum of Former Legislators (NFFL) convened the summit, attended by prominent figures like Femi Gbajabiamila, Pius Anyim, Ken Nnamani, Patricia Etteh, and Yakubu Dogara.

The group emphasized the importance of national unity and continuity in governance beyond 2031. They advocated for the constitutional entrenchment of power rotation to ensure equity and stability in Nigeria's democracy.

The summit reaffirmed the role of former legislators as critical stakeholders in Nigeria's democratic consolidation and nation-building efforts.
