Senator Urges Troops to Repel Bandits in Kano State, Deploys Joint Security Task Force

Senator Jibrin Barau, the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, conducted a security assessment visit to troop camps in Kano State, urging troops to repel bandits' incursion into the region. He visited four troop camps across Gwarzo, Shanono, and Tsanyawa local government areas following recent bandit incursions in Kano North Senatorial District.

Barau deployed a joint security task force comprising personnel from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, with the approval of President Bola Tinubu. During his visit, Barau inspected security operations led by Lt.

Abdullahi Sadiq and commended the troops for their sacrifices. He emphasized the need for sustained momentum to flush out criminal elements and restore peace in the area.

Barau also engaged with community leaders and announced plans to construct a dam to support local communities. The lawmaker aimed to reassure residents and enhance security efforts to permanently restore peace across Kano North.
