Barcelona Eyes Marcus Rashford Despite Gordon Signing

Barcelona has not dismissed the possibility of re-signing Marcus Rashford, even after acquiring Anthony Gordon. Rashford had a notable loan period at Camp Nou last season, contributing 28 goals in all competitions.

However, Barcelona did not activate the €30 million purchase option, leading them to pursue Gordon as a long-term attacking solution. Rashford has since returned to Manchester United, where he is being reintegrated into the first team under new manager Michael Carrick.

Despite this, his future is uncertain, with Barcelona reportedly in communication with his agent. Initially, Barcelona sought another loan for Rashford, who has two years remaining on his United contract, but Manchester United preferred a permanent transfer, which did not materialize earlier in the summer.

With Barcelona losing key players like Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, and potentially facing a season without Roony Bardghji due to injury, they may need to explore other options, including Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez. Rashford is said to desire a return to Barcelona, contingent on United's terms for a permanent transfer.
