Barcelona Eyes Osimhen as Backup to Julián Álvarez

FC Barcelona is reportedly eyeing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a potential backup option to Julián Álvarez ahead of the summer transfer window. Álvarez is currently Barcelona's primary target to replace veteran striker Robert Lewandowski. However, Atlético Madrid is reportedly unwilling to sell Álvarez, particularly with Antoine Griezmann expected to leave the club this summer.

As a result, Osimhen has emerged as a viable alternative for the Spanish giants. The 27-year-old Nigerian international has made a significant impact in world football, netting 56 goals in 70 appearances.

He previously joined Napoli from Galatasaray in a deal worth €75 million. Barcelona's interest in signing Osimhen is expected to involve a substantial fee, reflecting his value in the current transfer market.
