Barcelona Signs Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for £8.6m

FC Barcelona has officially signed Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for a reported transfer fee of £8.6 million (€10 million), with the striker penning a contract until June 2029. The announcement was made on Tuesday, following Jesus' medical examination on Monday.

Previously, he had garnered interest from Napoli. Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, made 123 appearances for the North London club, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists.

However, he faced competition from strikers Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres, which limited his playing time. Barcelona's acquisition of Jesus marks their third signing from a Premier League club this summer, as they aim to strengthen their squad.

The Brazilian, born on April 3, 1997, in São Paulo, began his career at Palmeiras before moving to Manchester City, where he scored 95 goals in 236 appearances and won several titles, including four Premier League titles. He has also represented Brazil in multiple international tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup.
