Senator Ndume Urges Dissolution of PENGASSAN Over Dangote Refinery Dispute

Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South has urged President Buhari to dissolve PENGASSAN due to their strike over the retrenchment of 800 employees at Dangote Refinery. Ndume criticized PENGASSAN for pursuing private interests over national concerns and blamed them for overstepping their authority.

He called for swift executive action to address the situation. The union had declared a protest against the refinery's layoffs, citing the need to protect national resources.

Dangote Refinery management defended the retrenchment as necessary for operational efficiency. Talks are ongoing between the Federal Government and the refinery to resolve the dispute.
